Worldwide cost of living

Yesterday's press release from human resources firm Mercer comparing the global cost of living across 143 cities worldwide makes fairly interesting reading. The survey compares the cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment.

Buenos Aires came in at a lowly 138th. Ascunicion, Paraguay (where I'm likely heading for some time later this year) finished last, or first in my book, in 143th spot for the 6th year running.

Hehe, in the coming months I will frequent the top five; Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo. As for Tokyo it is actually a lot cheaper than Norway so this Mercer study must use some strange parameters.

Ascunicion? Cheap maybe, but all I have heard from people who been there is that it totally sucks! But good luck and do tell what it is like.
