Christmas is much less commercial in Argentina. Barely any adverts on TV, no panic-buying of useless/tacky gifts etc etc. Perfect.
It's also summer here.
"BBQ (Asado) by the pool in 30 degree heat" beats the hell out of:
"Turkey and sprouts in barely-above-freezing temperatures".
In my book anyway.

I couldn't agree with you more. Xmas is pretty much ignored here in Vegas as well.
